iOS 13 is officially live and available for download across Apple’s latest handheld devices. An array of features focuses on security, ease of use, and overall device performance. Listed below are a few great features this new operating system has to showcase.
In my opinion, this is the best new feature of iOS 13. Dark Mode is the most striking and apparent feature in terms of visuals ever since the earlier generations of Apple devices. The dark feature is truly a masterpiece, presenting the entire system in dark mode. Virtually everything but the text is black, including all of Apple’s first-party applications. Partner this dark mode feature with your Facebook Messenger and Viber applications, and you are all set!
Photos And Video Overhaul
The interfaces of the Photos and Video applications have undergone a total change, and it is very user-friendly. You can now edit a bunch of aspects of your photos and videos such as brightness, highlights, shadows, contrast. Your files are also curated to show you what you want, how you want it.
The gesture keyboard is a feature that has been long known and utilized by Android users on their smartphones. Finally, Apple has produced the same function for its new system. The way the “quick path” keyboard works is intuitive. Run your finger across the letters of the word that you want to spell out, and the word pops up! There is a bit of a learning curve, but in theory, once you have gotten the hang of it, you will be dishing out messages here and there in no time.
Toggle For Application Download Limits
This aspect may not be a problem for many people, especially with how convenient it is these days to find a bookstore or coffee shop with Wi-Fi access. But the issue of not being able to download large applications with your data plan is a major bummer. With the iOS 13, you no longer have to worry about this as you can set the permission for downloading files larger than 200 MB. You can now download the latest apps and video games without the hassle of having to find Wi-Fi.
Although quite general in scope, the optimization of this new operating system can be felt by those who have tried it out. Applications are faster and more efficient, battery consumption is lower, and unlocking your phone using the Face ID feature is faster than ever.
Honorable Mention: FaceTime Correction
Gaze correction is just a little bonus to the multitude of features provided by iOS 13. An honorable nod goes to this nifty feature called FaceTime Correction. Usually, we look at the camera itself when we’re video-calling someone. This feature can digitally alter your eyes so that they appear as if you are making eye contact with the person you are FaceTiming. However, this feature would only be available to owners of iPhone X-series phones and beyond.
There you have it—the best new features of iOS 13. Want to know more? Visit Apple’s websites and read their guides so that you can take advantage of the latest developments in their devices.
